Nine days until P-Day, when THE SPEAR OF HEAVEN goes live on Amazon!
Obviously. I’ll send out a post the day of. Those who’ve signed up to receive an Advanced Reader Copy, prepare yourselves to leave a review - this really helps get the book off on the good foot, helping it rise up the algorithm, and so on. Odd…in the old days, a writer would care what a flesh-and-blood reviewer thought of his latest release, now we care what a mathematical equation makes of it. So…progress?
"The sound of the Gion Shōja bells echoes the impermanence of all things; the color of the sāla flowers reveals the truth that the prosperous must decline. The proud do not endure, they are like a dream on a spring night; the mighty fall at last, they are as dust before the wind."
These are the opening lines from the Heike Monogatari, the great samurai epic of Medieval Japan. I entered this as a prompt in Midjourney, with no other qualifiers and this is what resulted.
Have to say, I'm a bit disappointed...
I entered this as a prompt in Midjourney and Perchance. I was curious how two different AI art engines would react:
"The Founding Fathers signing the declaration of independence as orcs and goblins"
I think the Perchance engine came out on top. But either way...very interesting...

Cleopatra as Barbarella - definitely like the way this came out!

Waterloo (1970)
The producers used 17,000 extras for this film, drawn from the Soviet Army. I believe that holds the records for the largest production in history in terms of people involved.
Old School….no CGI. Movie makers today (ahem) may want to take notes…
